Sylloq is an academic organization service that helps students organize courses, syllabi, assessments, class schedules, calendars, reminders, and related academic information. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Sylloq.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
Depending on how you use Sylloq, you may provide:
- account information, including your email address;
- profile and onboarding information, such as your name, institution, program, semester name, and semester dates;
- course syllabi in PDF or DOCX format and timetable images or documents you choose to upload;
- course details, assessments, deadlines, grading information, class schedules, and other academic information;
- academic information you add or correct manually; and
- settings and preferences, including reminder, notification, appearance, and course sound preferences.
Information processed automatically
Sylloq and its infrastructure process information needed to run the service, such as authentication sessions, request and error logs, basic device or browser information, IP address information handled by hosting and security systems, and notification subscription or device tokens when you enable notifications. Sylloq does not include third-party advertising or targeted advertising trackers.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- provide, maintain, and secure Sylloq;
- create and authenticate accounts;
- organize academic information by user and semester;
- process syllabus and timetable uploads;
- create calendars, schedules, and reminders;
- send account communications and notifications you request or enable;
- prevent abuse and diagnose service reliability problems; and
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
3. Syllabus and AI Processing
When you upload a syllabus or timetable, Sylloq may use automated systems and OpenAI services to analyze its contents and identify information such as course details, assignments, quizzes, tests, exams, deadlines, grading information, and class schedules. The relevant document content is sent for processing only as needed to provide this feature.
Automated extraction can be incomplete or incorrect. Sylloq gives you review tools, but you remain responsible for checking important academic information against official course and institution materials.
5. Service Providers
Sylloq relies on providers including:
- Supabase for authentication, database, file storage, and backend infrastructure;
- OpenAI for AI-assisted syllabus and timetable processing;
- Vercel for application hosting and delivery;
- Resend for transactional email delivery where configured with Sylloq's authentication service; and
- Apple Push Notification service (APNs) and supported web push services when you enable notifications.
These providers may process information only as needed to perform their services for Sylloq and under their applicable terms and privacy practices.
6. Data Retention
Information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Sylloq and for legitimate operational, security, dispute, and legal purposes. Account-associated information may be retained while your account remains active or until a valid deletion request is completed, subject to applicable obligations. Backup, security, and diagnostic records may remain for a limited period after deletion where technically or legally necessary.
7. Data Security
Sylloq uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including authenticated access controls and access restrictions for user data and uploaded files. No online service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.

If you believe a child provided personal information without required consent, please contact Sylloq so the situation can be reviewed.
